Lo de Marcos
The pueblo of Lo de Marcos was historically a
vast hacienda that harvested coconut oil from now rare and protected
palm trees. Beautiful beaches are bordered by the tropical jungle and
tiny palapas line the sand offering the ultimate rustic
Mexican beach atmosphere.
The streets are cobblestone leading to the church of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which stands over
the town plaza where children play and older residents chat over handmade ice-cream. This town of just 3,000 is continuously
growing so as to accommodate a new wave of national and foreign visitors looking to experience Mexico “off-the-beaten-track”.
